Rotary Club Nepal-Bhutan hands over the PCR machine to the hospital

 

BHAKTAPUR. Rotary Club of Madhyapur RI District 3292 Nepal and Bhutan have jointly handed over the PCR machine for testing Covid-19 to Nepal Korea Friendly Municipal Hospital in Madhyapur Thimi. Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Pokhrel, District Governor of Rotary International 3292 Nepal Bhutan, said that Rotary International has been assisting in Nepal especially in the field of education and health.

Stating that he would provide additional support to the hospital, he said that he had helped the hospital under a program run by Rotary in a hospital in seven states. The organization has handed over a portable PCR machine set to the only hospital in Bhaktapur district for the Covid-19 test. The hospital has started testing the coronavirus using the PCR method after the government of Nepal gave official approval for the corona test from June 15.

 

According to the hospital administration, more than 200 PCR tests are done in this hospital daily and results are provided in 24 hours. The hospital has so far tested 10,000 people for corona. As the PCR test will be conducted from two machines along with the PCR machine provided to the first hospital in Nepal under the municipality, the hospital has stated that more PCR tests can be done in the coming days.
