KATHMANDU: Rajinikanth, the South Indian cinema superstar, has announced his resignation from politics. On Monday, he disbanded his political party, Rajinikanth Makkal Mandram.

Rajinikanth has no plans to return to politics in the future, according to Indian media, and has chosen to dissolve the party following extensive conversations with all party officials. Rajinikanth's new organization, the 'Rajni Fan Club Association,' will now serve the public.

In 2018, Rajinikanth Makkal Mandram was established. "I have not been able to continue a political career due to my health," he said in a statement. "After serious consultations with the members of the organization, I have decided to disband Rajinikanth Makkal Mandram."

Due to his health, Rajinikanth opted to stay away from political politics on December 29 of last year. He issued a letter at the time declaring that if he did not enter politics, he would continue to serve the people. Even if his admirers are dissatisfied with the decision, Rajinikanth has begged his supporters to forgive him. Rajinikanth had only recently returned from therapy in the United States. Doctors have recommended her from doing anything too strenuous for her body. Since 2017, Rajinikanth has been involved in Indian politics.
