KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has instructed subordinate agencies to spare no effort in saving, relieving and preserving the lives and properties of the victims of the disaster. The Prime Minister ordered the officials of the agencies concerned to work effectively to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from floods and landslides caused by moonsoon rains in various parts of the country and to carry out immediate rescue and relief.

Member of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NCDRM), Anil Pokharel said that during a council meeting on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli called on him to make every effort to save people's lives and properties.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the plans of the ministries and agencies concerned to deal with the countrywide floods , landslides, epidemics and snake bites.

Member Secretary Pokharel said PM Oli had been instructed to work with priority on risk reduction, rescue and relief and rehabilitation. Similarly, PM Oli has instructed Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada to arrange the additional budget for rescue, relief and rehabilitation work immediately, if necessary.

He also emphasized the use of helicopters in rescue operations and opted for other alternative equipment in the event of adverse circumstances, and advised the Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force to pay special attention to the rescuer 's health.
