IPL 13: Indians from Mumbai to lock CSK horns in the tournament opener


MUMBAI: Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will lock horns in the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2020 opening match on 19 September, organizers announced on Sunday.


Dubai will host 24 games, Abu Dhabi will host 20 matches while Sharjah will host 12 matches.
The dates and venues will be released later on for the playoff stages. The opening match between 2019 edition finalists will be played at the Abu Dhabi Sheik Zayed Stadium.

 

From September 19-November 10, the IPL 2020 will be played in the UAE at three venues – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah

The fans were eagerly waiting for the schedule to find out the dates on which they will see their favorite teams in action.

The finals will be played for the first time in tournament history on a weekday ie Tuesday.

This time around, both the afternoon and evening matches are played half an hour earlier than usual. This edition of the tournament will feature a total of 10 doubleheaders.

The evening matches will be played at 7:30 PM IST while at 3:30 PM IST the afternoon matches are due to commence.

All the teams have already reached the UAE to participate in the tournament, and are currently being trained.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was the last team to start training as they finally got on the field after their third round of COVID-19 tests on Friday.
