Local heritage enthusiasts had filed a petition at the apex court to stop the reconstruction of the stone fountain, which is of archeological significance. In the same petition, a single bench of Supreme Court Judge Harikrishna Karki had issued an interim order to keep the stone spout reconstruction in place.
The Supreme Court has ordered to stop the reconstruction and asked both the parties to appear in the court on September 8.
Earlier, it was supposed to reach Dhungedhara through Pati, but now it is being rebuilt by pushing Dhungedhara and Pati behind. The Madhyapur Thimi Napa Consumers Committee has also used cement in the reconstruction of the board against the rules and regulations of property reconstruction. It is known from the inscription that the heritage is about 252 years old.
"On the one hand, the stone fountain with a pavilion is not in place," says Ram Thapa Magar, ward chairman of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-2.
