KATHMANDU: The Congress of Nepal (NC) has agreed to hold its General Convention from 19-22 February 2021.
While all of the party's operations were suspended for three months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a meeting of the main opposition party's Central Working Committee agreed to conduct the Central General Convention on the previously scheduled date.
A meeting which concluded today agreed to revise the timetable of conventions at the provincial, district, and electorate, municipal and ward level.
In the meeting, General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka had put forward a revised schedule.
It is stated in the new proposed schedule for the General Convention that the entire list will be sent to the Election Committee by December 15, after the process of registration, distribution and investigation of active membership has been completed.
It has instructed subordinate local bodies to distribute and renew the active membership by August 16, and to send the membership list to the center by September 16.
October 16, November 16 for appeal and December 10 for settling all conflicts is the deadline for lodging a lawsuit against the active membership.
