KATHMANDU: The Nepal government decided to lift the four-month lockdown since midnight on Tuesday to allow schools to take admission and conduct exams from 17 August.
A cabinet
meeting on Monday had decided to follow safety health measures to pursue
educational activities. The date for operating classes is not yet
set, however.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, communications
and information technology minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said the government
would later decide on teaching activities. Similarly, as agreed by the
government, restaurants and hotels must operate with certain restrictions from
July 30.
Nevertheless, the restaurants and hotels can not hold
parties and seminars while they run, Minister Khatiwada said.
