Mobile, WiFi, and radio are not accessible in this American city: how is public life?

KATHMANDU, Agency: In today's modern world, life without mobile, television, and the internet is hard to imagine. Today, from the elderly to the children, it seems that they are looking at the screen of the smartphone. They are found hanging on mobile phones whenever they can. But in a developed country like America, there is a city where there is no mobile, no WiFi, no radio, no TV. But even there, public life is normal.

Green Bank, located in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, is one of the quietest areas in the world. No one in the city uses a mobile phone. There is no radio or television. The city is completely free from modern technology. The Green Bank has the world's largest mobile telescope. Due to the same telescope, all devices generating electromagnetic waves in the city have been banned.

Radio telescopes detect electromagnetic waves coming from distant space. In this case, if another wave comes near him, he can not give the correct reading. Not only mobiles, WiFi, and TVs but also petrol vehicles are banned in the city. The engine uses an electric spark to emit electromagnetic waves.

Electronic devices are banned not only in Green Park but also in the nearby 13,000 square mile area. About 150 people now live in the Green Bank. They take their lives as gifts. Children like to talk and play with each other rather than sticking to mobile phones and TVs. To communicate with outsiders, they use Payphone booths.

What's more, in the last few years, people from other places have come and settled here. Diane Shu, who came here with her husband in 2007, says, "Life here is not perfect. There is no grocery store here. No restaurant. There is no hospital. But I'm healthy here. My head doesn't hurt anytime soon. This is the right place to live a healthy life. '
