The budget is Rs 7 million. Discussions are now taking place not only in Kirtipur but also in the whole of Nepal and around the world about replacing the sloping roofs of the famous Baghbhairav temples with copper roofs. The issue is to replace the thatched roof of the Baghbhairav temple in Kirtipur with a copper roof.
It is being heard that water leaked in the rainy season due to the thatched roof, so the roof should be removed and a copper roof should be installed. If the roof is kept intact so that water does not leak using modern technology ... snakes do not die, sticks do not break ... just as history remains the same, our descendants of tomorrow will also have the opportunity to understand and know the identity of their ancestors. And in fact, foreign tourists come to visit Nepal, not to see the modern, archeological heritage, culture, traditions, customs and society to observe. This seems to be a serious issue for us Nepalis to take care of. Not only that, after the appearance of the world famous Baghbhairav has changed, if the old look of the old Baghbhairav temple seen in the photo when a foreigner visits Nepal looks new, the minds of those tourists will surely cry. Because, we could not see the appearance of the old Baghbhairav temple.
With a budget of Rs 7 million, instead of dismantling the thatched roof of the Baghbhairab temple, another new temple with a copper roof would be built, and future generations would see it as a temple built by the present generation. Making history instead of erasing history seems to be the demand of the present time.
We have got to see the historical heritages of Kirant period, Lichhavi period, Malla period. Shouldn't this age also build such historical heritages? What will show the future generations the construction of the historical heritage of this age? What to leave behind the identity of the present age? Instead, it would be appropriate to build another new historical heritage with a budget of NRs 7 million.
In this regard, Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality Ramesh Maharjan says that the amount of NRs. This scheme is not directly linked to Kirtipur Municipality. However, in my opinion, the identity of Baghbhairab Kirtipur should be discussed in depth. The Department of Archeology of the Government of Nepal has said that copper roofs have been installed in different temples in different periods. According to the Department of Archeology, the Pashupatinath temple also had a thatched roof and later a copper roof. Similarly, a copper roof has recently been installed in the Ganesh Temple at Chobhar in Kirtipur. However, if the roofing is removed and the copper roof is removed, the cultural significance, the archeological significance, the history will be erased, and I think it should be resolved through extensive discussion and consultation.
In a way, it also comes down to employment. We replaced the thatched roof with a copper roof. Did the people who used to produce zingati lose their jobs later? The Department of Archeology has said that the copper roof has been removed in different periods. From that period onwards, the production of sorghum has been gradually decreasing. At present, Bhaktapur, Thimi, Lalitpur, Bosigaun, etc., are the only places where Zingati is produced. Isn't it because of the loss of employment of the makers of Zingati, and because of the replacement of Zingati with a copper roof? Who are the producers of Zingati and where do they live?
And one thing, when building houses in places of cultural heritage area now, local bodies are calling for building houses in the old style with Dachi Appa (Traditional brick). If you want to change the old look and bring a new look, then why build a house using Dachi Appa now? Let's not embrace modernity.
Why was the Sassa: tole located in 3 wards of Kirtipur, which has emerged as the traditional heritage cultural Place built from the identity of the number one ancestor of Nepal, used to attract the place by using zingati to reflect the identity of the ancestors? Why are domestic and foreign tourists flocking to Sass: tole?
Instead, if there is a budget, let's build a new property. Let's maintain the old heritage as it is. If there is a problem of water leakage, modern technology can be adopted to make the water leaky without displacing it. Constituency No. 10 MP Rajan KCJU has been taking many positive steps for the overall development of Kirtipur. Infrastructure Development Partnership MP budget should be used in the right area.
And last but not least, the roof of the Baghbhairab temple is covered with black copper. When is it over Could not set date. Therefore, if the black copper is removed and the roof of Zingati is installed, the beauty of the temple will be even brighter. Conscious citizens of Kirtipur say that the black copper roof at the top of the Baghbhairab temple has made the temple look a little ugly.
