Release of local course 'Yanh Dey Mahasike' in Nepal Bhasa language
 

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has implemented local curriculum in Nepal Bhasa language from class 1 to 8. The metropolis has made public the curriculum and textbooks for classes 1 to 4. The curriculum and textbooks for grades 5 to 8 will also be made public soon, the metropolis said. Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Metropolitan Chief Vidya Sundar Shakya and Deputy Chief Hari Prabha Khadgi Shrestha have jointly released a book in the National Assembly with the objective of teaching 100 marks local subjects in mother language in schools within the Kathmandu metropolitan area.

 

Metropolitan Chief Shakya said that despite various problems while trying to implement this course, the metropolis has courageously brought the course in Nepal Bhasa language. Shakya said that he has succeeded in turning many challenges into opportunities when it comes to preparing textbooks.

He said that he was in a campaign to raise the standard of community schools in the metropolis, adding that the upgradation of community schools would automatically close the institutional schools. He said that people from all 77 districts live in Kathmandu and Nepali is the language of all. Metropolitan Deputy Chief Hari Prabha Khadgi Shrestha said that the curriculum would be implemented in community schools as well as private schools.

 

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to teach the textbook in all the community and private schools under its jurisdiction from this academic session. Under Part 3, Fundamental Rights of Article 3 (2) and (3) of the Constitution of Nepal, provision has been made to teach one subject as a local curriculum in the community and institutional schools under it from every local level of the country. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has prepared this textbook under the same arrangement.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Bhishma Panda, President of N Pabson, said that there were many doubts before the implementation of this Nepal Bhasa language course and now those doubts have been resolved. He said that this curriculum would be implemented in all the schools under N Pabson, adding that Nepal Bhasa language is the property of not only the Newar community but everyone. He said that N. Pabson would welcome Nepal Bhasa language as his own property.

 

Similarly, Dilli Prasad Sharma Dhakal, president of the Community School Vocational Education Association, said that with the implementation of 'Yanh Dey Mahasike', the focus should be on producing skilled manpower who can build not only the language but also the arts and heritage of Kathmandu. He said that the local language curriculum should not be limited to class 8 but up to class 12.

 

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started reading the subject with the objective of introducing the subjects such as festivals, culture, skills, business, moral education, geography, health and hygiene, lifestyle, personality introduction, language and script. Is given. The textbook contains only lessons related to various processions, festivals, stone fountains, parties, sattals, people, etc. within the Kathmandu metropolis. The textbook covers topics such as public life, art, food, festivals, language, script, and traditional games of the Newar community.
