KATHMANDU: Political leaders have concluded that democracy and the constitution, both of which are under severe jeopardy, must be saved.

After an all-party meeting convened by Speaker Agni Sapkota at Parliament Building in New Baneshwor on Friday, former Prime Minister and JSP leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said that the House of Representatives (HoR) was being dissolved time and time again, and that all parties had agreed to work together to save democracy because Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's decisions often trapped the HoR.

“Democracy is now entrapped. The House of Commons has been dissolved twice. “It's a widespread concern,” Dr. Bhattarai remarked. “Coronavirus is on the rise, and vaccinations are woefully inadequate. On this subject, we all have the same viewpoint.”

At the meeting, the leaders of the major parties unanimously agreed that Chure exploitation was also a poor government move. Party leaders allegedly warned the speaker that dissolving parliament was a poor idea, according to Bhattarai. He expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would rule in their favor, and argued that dissolving parliament was an act of tyranny and arbitrariness on numerous occasions.

Bhattarai stated, "We have suggested to the speaker that democracy be restored and safeguarded."

Speaker Sapkota met with party leaders following Prime Minister Oli's second dissolution of parliament to discuss the problem. He had already sought legal counsel.
