KATHMANDU: Immoral and obscene actions are on the rise in tandem with the usage of social media. Abuse of technology is used to engage in actions such as character assassination, fraud, unlawful activity, or instigation to do so.
According to the Cyber Bureau, a friend request was sent to a social media user recently, and a video call was made using Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Emo, and other platforms.
The bureau has warned social media users to be cautious, as the number of persons requesting money repeatedly through more immoral/obscene behaviors such as recording video chats, indulging in cybercrime, and severing social and familial relationships is on the rise.
If you discover that such activities have occurred, where should you make a complaint?

Online abuse has become increasingly frequent in the era of the internet. Approximately half of all teen Internet users are subjected to everyday online bullying.
However, half of them never disclose such behavior. Because they are unaware of the procedures for reporting and filing complaints.
The Nepal Police has established a Cyber Bureau to receive complaints and take action against such cases of abuse.
To file a complaint via email
Sign a petition to the Cyber Bureau at Police Headquarters and include your name and phone number.

Attach a photocopy of your citizenship strip as well as your driver's license or other government-issued identification card.

What should you do if someone uses your personal information without your permission on YouTube?
To begin, contact the person who originally uploaded your content and request that it be removed.
