KATHMANDU: There are about 320,000 types of viruses in the world. They infect mammals. The deadliest virus kills some 15 million people worldwide each year. Before the coronavirus, these viruses terrorized.
Rotavirus
Rotavirus is also called the virus that kills children. It kills about half a million children worldwide every year. It can spread fatal diarrhea in newborns and children up to eight years of age. In some cases, the lives of children are lost.
Buffer
Beef has killed more people than any other virus. It is believed to have killed 300 to 500 million people. The reproduction number of this virus is between three and a half to six. That is, one person infected with the virus infects three to six people. Its mortality rate is 90 percent. Now it has been eradicated from the world.
Measles
In the last 150 years, measles has claimed the lives of 200 million people. According to old records, it claimed the lives of about two million people each year. But the virus has now been brought under control through vaccination. A person infected with the virus can infect 12 to 18 people.

Yellow fever
A person with yellow fever starts bleeding from the nose, eyes, mouth and stomach. About 50 percent of these patients die within seven to 10 days. Even now, yellow fever infects about two million people every year and kills about 30,000.
The flu
The flu kills about half a million people worldwide every year. The most dangerous flu pandemic is the Spanish flu. It is said to have killed five to 100 million people.
Rabies
Rabies has long been considered a dangerous disease. Rabies can be caused by a dog bite or a rabies bite. The disease kills 60,000 people worldwide every year. Most of these deaths occur in Africa and South Asia.
Hepatitis B and C.
Hepatitis B kills about seven million people every year. It attacks the liver first, which can lead to liver cancer or liver damage. The disease causes permanent damage to the liver and does not heal after treatment. Hepatitis C kills about 3.5 million people worldwide each year.
Ebola and Marburg virus

HIV AIDS
