KATHMANDU: The Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) has announced the names of 15 Nepali cricketers registered for the mega action of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The names of Asif Sheikh, Pawan Sharraf, Sandeep Jora, Kushal Bhurtel, Rohit Poudel, Sushan Bhari, Arif Sheikh, Avinash Bohora, Vinod Bhandari, Sharad Bheshavkar, Kushal Malla, Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airi have been registered along with captain Sandeep Lamichhane. .

 

The deadline for player registration was January 20, with 896 Indian and 318 foreign players registered. The mega action of this year's IPL is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday released a list of 1,214 players. 10 teams will participate in the two-day mega action. There are 270 cap players from 41 associate countries and 903 uncapped players registered in the mega action.

 

According to the BCCI, 15 Nepali players have been registered from Nepal. This time the big players will not participate in this tournament. West Indies' Chris Gayle has not given his name in the mega action. Australia's Mitchell Starc, England's Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Joffra Archer, Joey Root and Chris Book have also not been included in the mega action.

 

There are 49 players in the list of base price of Rs 20 million released for mega action. There are 17 Indians and 32 foreign players in the list. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shriyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan and Suresh Raina are on the list.

 

Foreign players include David Warner, Kaziso Rabada, Doben Bravo, Pat Cummins, Adam Jampa, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Mark Wood, Trent Bould and Faf du Plessis. The names allotted by the franchise for the mega action to be held in Bangalore on March 26 and 27 will be auctioned.
