Cities around the world have adopted various methods to ensure that garbage goes to the dustbin. However, no city can claim to have fully collected all the garbage generated within its jurisdiction. A company in Sweden is training crows as a new method of picking up cigarette butts thrown in the street in an attempt to pick up rubbish.
A video released by Corvid Cleaning shows a crow picking up a stump and throwing it into a dustbin. Peanuts have been distributed to crows as a reward to motivate them to pick up more garbage. But, what happens if the crow puts the leaves and other things in the dustbin instead of the stumps? In this case, they are not given peanuts.
‘Dustbin will suggest keeping garbage except for things like stones and leaves. Crows will be able to participate in the garbage collection as much or as little as they want. And, people’s involvement is to empty the dustbin and refill the food, ”Corvid Cleaning said on its website.
