KATHMANDU: Nepal Mazdur Kisan Party Lawmaker Prem Suwal has objected that the coalition government has remained silent while India is diverting the flow of Mahakali River to Nepal in Darchula.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Suwal complained that the government had not spoken even when his land was being encroached upon. He also demanded that the encroachment of Indian side on Nepal's border should be stopped immediately.
‘India is diverting the flow of Mahakali towards Nepal in Darchula. But the government is silent and the news is being published. In fact, it is happening. Why doesn't the government speak at such a time? '
He drew the attention of the government saying that the Indian Army was still in Kalapani. 'India is building a road on Nepali land Lipulek. By crossing the Mahakali River five meters in Darchula, India is building a five kilometer long embankment of nine meters height. This will cause loss of life and property in Nepal in the coming year ', he said,' Local people are struggling to protect Nepali land. What are the local administration, home administration, foreign ministry doing? It is necessary to immediately stop the oppression and encroachment of India on Nepal's border contrary to international law.
Suwal sought information about the incident in Darchula through the Prime Minister. Is Nepal's border secure or not? He also said that it was necessary to inform the House about that.
