KATHMANDU: It has been almost 7 years since the catastrophic earthquake destroyed the heritage of the capital. The government has dismissed the Reconstruction Authority, saying the justification is over. But the capital's heritage is still being rebuilt. Reconstruction work can be seen at Thecho, Bungmati, Patan of Lalitpur, Basantapur of Kathmandu, Jaisi Deval, Durbar squire of Bhaktapur and Pati Pauwa around Dattatraya.

 

Building and rebuilding heritage is certainly not easy. It is challenging to keep the historical and archeological significance intact along with faith and belief. Those involved in the construction say that there is a lack of man power (Kaligarh) to help in the reconstruction of the heritage with the passing of the old generation.

Due to the lack of transfer and transmission of traditional techniques and skills, and the failure to collect details of the art and technology used in the monastery while the temple is still alive, the construction of the heritage is being delayed.
