It lifted off from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch site on China's southern Hainan Island on board a Long March 5 rocket as several supporting fans assembled sea shores over the narrows to observe the occasion, a VOA report said.

The Tianwen-1, which converts into "Grand Questions" or "Inquiries to Heaven," is relied upon to arrive at the Red Planet by February, it said.

When it enters circle, an arrival test will separate and land on the planet's Utopia Planitia district, where it will discharge a little sunlight based fueled meanderer that will investigate the surface for at any rate three months, as indicated by the report.

The arrival would make China the subsequent country to put a rocket on the Martian surface.

The United States has just landed eight tests since 1976. This strategic the most aggressive endeavor of China's quickly developing space program.
