Coronadevi temple built in India, daily prayers

Two temples of Coronadevi have been built at Coimbatore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The priests in the temple are praying daily. Such prayers are being offered at a time when transition is on the rise in the country.

Devotees are not allowed to enter the Kamachipuri temple but priests are worshiping idols. One statue is made of sandalwood and the other is made of marble.

The priests have been offering offerings and other things to the idol and offering turmeric water and milk. They are praying for an end to the epidemic.

"We also built temples for smallpox, measles and plague," said temple manager Anandabharati Kele. "We are worshiping the virus as a goddess and praying for the disease to subside," he added. -Agency
