Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-class country. But for a long time, power has been shrinking in the hands of a handful of elites. They have been using the oppressed class, caste, region, gender and community as business complex in every way. The biggest hit is the Dalit community. Even domestic and foreign powers have been using it for their own vested interests. Their investment has remained the same. So why foreign direct and indirect foreign investment in the name of reducing Dalit discrimination?
The incident of caste discrimination against journalist Rupa Sunar in Kathmandu a few days ago over the issue of room rent is very popular. ‘Racial Discrimination Mortalism! Build a humane society !! 'Dalit non-Dalit people are on the streets. Are overflowing on social media. This incident has taken a collective form against discrimination. But a few days later, the party, including housewife Saraswati Pradhan, launched a signature campaign against Rupa Sunar, saying, "Discrimination is not our desire, but we should not look at other people's private property." It is not limited to that. Rupa Sunar went viral on social media saying that she had taken Rs 15 million from the European Union to carry out the scandal. This is the beginning of a double whammy. Although such discrimination may seem real, misleading propaganda has obscured other things. Until confirmed, all this will only prove to be an allegation.
The pain of caste discrimination in the countryside is hundreds of times greater than the pain of renting a room in the city. The incidents of beating Dalits and killing them like animals are decreasing day by day. These incidents are not so widespread. There is no one to help in the pain of the village. The media is not involved in the incidents in the villages and the state power does not even look at them. This problem is even worse in the Madhes. It is enough to remember Nawaraj Vik, Shambhu Sada, Vijay Ram, Angira Pasi, Tribhuvan Ram, Roshan Ram, Rajesh Rishidev and Sukdev Khang who were killed in the lockdown. Even now, their case has not been decided. The culprits are roaming around openly.
Instead of helping the villagers suffer, the traders are scattered on the streets. Thus, the incidents of caste discrimination are more prevalent in the villages than in the cities. But such rumors do not spread widely. Many incidents go unnoticed on social media. Thus, such incidents in rural areas are becoming more prevalent in urban areas than in urban areas. In other words, the incidents of Dalit discrimination are also taking place according to the village, city and caste. It is determined by the economic status and trust of the outside power. This is a big difference within discrimination.
In the case of Rupa Sunar and dozens of previous incidents, the discrimination of the Dalit community in the name of some kind of caste discrimination is still being used by the racist business class of the Dalit and non-Dalit classes as a source of income. At first glance, this article may seem counterintuitive. But if we ignore the activities that have been going on in this area for a long time, it also gives a sense of reality.
There has been foreign investment in the field of Dalit discrimination for a long time. After all, the result is the same. Government investment has also been steady. But the Dalit community has not yet been freed from caste discrimination. What does that investment mean? Is it necessary to continue investing in the area where the main problem of the area in which one invests is present? This means that because of such tendencies, discrimination against Dalits has been encouraged to increase rather than end. They have invested in this sector, why?
How much foreign investment has been made in this sector so far? Who will show the account book? The amount of money raised for dalits has not been made public. Why are foreign countries worried about Nepal's internal affairs? Why unnecessary investment? In this way, the work of disturbing harmony and aggravating problems in the name of cooperation in another country should be stopped. Whether it is neighboring India, China or European countries, the investment made in this sector is completely wrong. It is only for their petty interests. Such investment will not end the caste discrimination in our country. The problem is exacerbated. In this case, the middle class in our country has a bigger role than the foreigners. We must be careful. Citizens of the state must be aware of this at all times. These are the reasons why the Dalit community is competing for conversion. Investment has been made in the education sector. That is not enough for everyone. They do not have that status. They invest only to satisfy their limited self-interest.
How long will Dalit oppression be used as a source of income? Is this discrimination not a problem but a commodity for a handful of classes and people? This is not a question of today, it is a topic that is constantly being raised. But who will hear? How long will a handful of people remain fat in the name of Dalit discrimination? And how long will we cry in the streets that the problems of the Dalit community have not been solved? Does the dollar cultivator want to end the barbarism against the Dalit community or use it as a source of livelihood by disturbing social harmony? When and by whom will all discrimination against Dalits end? How long will landless squatters be deprived of citizenship? Who is responsible for this? Why is the Dalit community becoming an arena for cultivating dollars in the name of various organizations and social services?
Not only the silver and gold scandal, but also various organizations have been patronizing the past. He also had an impact on goldsmiths. The state does not monitor such matters at all. Because there are more non-goldsmiths than goldsmiths. It is again the state that gives its legitimacy. Where there is a game of commission rather than monitoring. Get a dollar farming license. Khagendra Sunar, the western coordinator of the National Dalit Mukti Jagran Abhiyan (Radmuja-Abhiyan), says that the main enemy of the Dalit community is not discrimination but the tendency to increase discrimination and sell it. It wants to perpetuate discrimination. They want to keep foreign dollars. Therefore, the Dalit community itself should be aware of this. We have announced a change in our awareness campaign.
It has been more than a decade since the democratic system came to the country. Democracy is more undemocratic. Nowadays, it is easy to create such sophistry and confusion. There are many who run after illusions rather than seek reality. If the European Union has used goldsmiths to disrupt social harmony ethnically, and goldsmiths have been used, it will be a tragedy not only for the Dalit community but for the country as a whole. Ganga Sada, general secretary of the National Dinabhadri Musahar Association and central campaigner of the Radmuja campaign, says that various organizations have so far brought in foreign dollars in the name of reducing discrimination against dalits. Which has no audit. The Government of Nepal still spends billions in this area, bringing in foreign grants. But the expected achievement has not been achieved.
Thus, no one has the right to make foreign investment and disturb harmony.
It is our responsibility to end caste discrimination and maintain social harmony. We resist interfering in such matters. Such activities and actions cannot end discrimination against the Dalit community. Others cannot solve their country's internal problems. Only the citizens of their country know the problems of their country. They can solve it, others can't. There are many foreign dollar shops in the country in the name of NGOs and other social organizations. The government can stop it. It has become like manpower. Powerful nations have used the Dalit community as a weapon in the name of various forms of assistance through these organizations. Rupa is trying to discredit the goldsmiths. Not only Rupa Sunar but all of us Nepalis must be vigilant in time. Otherwise, many dalits will continue to be discredited. And the discrimination of the Dalit community will continue to be played. Dalits will continue to trade. Experimentalists will be born in dollars.
